Tony Hiss

Tony Hiss is an independent author, lecturer, and consultant on restoring America’s cities and landscapes and has written books including “The Experience of Place: A New Way of Looking at and Dealing With our Radically Changing Cities and Countryside (1991) ”and “In Motion: The Experience of Travel (2010).” He became a staff writer at The New Yorker in 1963. Since 1994, he has been a visiting scholar at New York University, first at the Taub Urban Research Center, and now at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Learn more about Tony
