We served as a short-term, full-time consultant to research culturally-resonant strategies for community development and worked with a unique multi-sectoral collaboration to develop their civic participation program and plan for strategic organizational development. We designed and implemented a community development project with the Gifu Machizukuri Center (“machizukuri” is Japan’s homegrown variety of community development).

We also helped to design and implement a community building project and proposed the term “machi-jin zukuri” as a translation of “community and ‘people’ development” as we know it in the United States.
