Description

The National Bitter Melon Council (NBMC) is an public art and community development project. The project is framed as a national vegetable promotional board (motto: Better Living Through Bitter Melon) and creates public events and projects while devoted to the cultivation of a vibrant, diverse community through the promotion and distribution of Bitter Melon. The project questions, “what is the taste and sentiment of bitterness?” The NBMC uses the concept of this flavor that is an emotion to instigate situations that, through bitterness, create an alternative basis for community.

The project is in collaboration with Misa Saburi and Andi Sutton, and Bitter Lab is a new initiative of the National Bitter Melon Council.
